PACSystems* RX3i redundant cpus can be used to perform real-time control of machines, processes, and material handling systems. The CPU uses SNP slave protocols with programmers and HMI devices through serial ports. It communicates with I/O and smart options through the dual backplane bus provided by the module:
▪ High-speed PCI backplane for fast throughput with new advanced I/O. Serial backplane facilitates migration of existing devices series 90*-30 I/O.

Hot spare (HSB) redundancy. Two redundant units build a redundant system. Each unit requires a redundant CPU (IC695CRU320) and a redundant configured memory switch module (IC695RMX128/228) as a redundant link. Includes 64mb of battery-supported user memory and 64mb of non-volatile flash user memory. Access to large memory is provided by reference to table %W.
▪ Configurable data and program storage. – Ladder Diagram, Structured text programming, C. Refer to PACSystems RX7i& RX3i CPU Programmer Reference Manual, GFK-2950. Support automatic location of symbol variables of any number of user memory.
Reference table sizes include 32kbit discrete %I and %Q and up to 32K words per analog %AI and %AQ.
▪ Supports most series 90-30 modules and extension racks. For supported I/O lists, communications, motion modules and smart modules refer to the PACSystemsRX3i System Manual, GFK-2314F or later.
▪ Supports up to 512 blocks. The maximum size block size is 128KB.
▪CPU firmware can be upgraded on-site.
▪ The CPU supports firmware upgrades for its modules.
Two serial ports: an RS-485 serial port and an RS-232 serial port.

▪ Time synchronization to Ethernet SNTP time server when used with Ethernet 5.0 or later.
▪ Complies with EU RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC using the exemptions identified in the following annexes :7(a), 7(c)-I and 7(c) iii.
