The MVI69E-MBTCP is a Modbus TCP/IP Enhanced Communication Module. It must be installed with compatible power supply and at least One (1) free slot in the CompactLogix rack.
The MVI69E-MBTCP has power supply distance rating of 4. When used with CompactLogix 1769-L43 and 1769-L45, install the MVI69E-MBTCP on the first Two (2) slots of the 1769 bus. The MVI69E-MBTCP comes with One (1) RJ45 communication port that supports 10/100 Base-T Ethernet data rate. It also requires used of ProSoft Configuration Builder and ProSoft Discovery Service.
The MVI69E-MBTCP supports both Client and Server connectivity. It may be used to interface with a wide variety of MODBUS enabled devices. It has an I/O size of 60/120/240 – 16 bit integers with 10,000 Words of available data. It supports Floating point data movement as well as support for Enron, Daniel, and other Floating point data implementations. It supports MODBUS functions such as 1: Read Coil Status; 2: Read Input Status; 3: Read Holding Register; 4: Read Input Registers; 5: Force (Write) Single Coil; 6: Preset (Write) Single Holding Register; 8: Diagnostics (Slave Only, Responds to Sub function 00); 15: Force (Write) Multiple Coils;16: Preset (Write) Multiple Holding Registers; 17: Report Slave ID (Slave Only); 22: Mask Write Holding Register (Slave Only) and 23: Read/Write Holding registers (Slave only).
This module is shipped with the setup jumper OFF. The acts as an input and output communication module between the Modbus TCP/IP network. The MVI69E-MBTCP communicates with MODBUS compatible devices, acting also as a communication module between the bus network and the CompactLogix backplane. The cable recommended for Ethernet connection is a category 5 or higher. The recommended conditions for the optimum performance of the Prosoft Technologies MVI69E-MBTCP Modbus TCP/IP Enhanced Communication Module are an operating temperature of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and a relative humidity of 5 to 95%. The Prosoft Technologies MVI69E-MBTCP Modbus TCP/IP Enhanced Communication Module provides LED indicator that shows the module status, the backplane activity, the Ethernet port activity and the configuration. This module needs to be installed on a rack, and after the installation, users need to check that the module is secured enough to avoid trouble integrating the module into the system.
