Hydraulic design, actuator selection, feedback and other aspects of sensor selection, performance estimation are not applicable to this application notice. The Notes to the Application G122-202 (Part C31015) cover some of these aspects. Moog Application Engineer can provide more detailed help if required.
2 Description
The G122-829A001 is a general purpose, user configurable, derived servo amplifier. The selector switch inside the amplifier enables either proportional control, integral control, or both. Many aspects of the amplifier’s features can be adjustable with the front panel pan or optionally internal switch. This allows one amplifier to be used for many different applications. Also refer to data sheet G122-829.
3 Installation
3.1 Location
A horizontal DIN rail, mounted on the vertical rear surface of the industrial steel housing, is the method expected more and more. The G122-829A001 guide release clip should be face down so that the front panel and terminals can be recognized as readable, so the internal electronics get cooling airflow.
An important consideration for module placement is whether there is electromagnetic interference from other equipment in the enclosure. For example, VF and AC servo drives produce high levels of electromagnetic interference. Be sure to check that other equipment is placed near G122-829A001 before complying with EMC requirements.
3.2 Cooling
The upper and lower sides of the G122-829A001 housing have vents to provide cooling for internal electronics. These vents should be kept awake. It is important to ensure that the equipment below does not produce hot exhaust that heats the G122-829.
