VME/VME64 single-board computer based on Abaco Systems/VMIC VMIVME-7698 Single-slot Celeron Socket 370 processor with Intel Celeron processor with MMX. Celeron processors have 32-bit addressing and 64-bit data buses. Onboard DRAM is the dual port of the VMEbus. The system and video BIOS are provided in reprogrammable flash memory. The VMIVME-7698 provides users with three 16-bit timers (in addition to the system timers) and is compatible with the 82C54. These timers map to the I/O space and are completely software programmable.
VMIVME-7698-146
The VMIC family of products was originally manufactured and developed by GE Automation Industrial Production, which was later acquired by Abaco Systems. The functions of these devices include an analog-digital or digital-to-analog converter board, a central processing unit, and a set of analog or digital input and output modules. The VMIVME-7698-146 module is built as a single board computer.
The VMIVME-7698-146 unit is equipped with a Celeron single-slot Socket 370 processor. It was designed with operating systems capable of supporting Windows NT and Windows 2000, followed by Linux, VxWorks, QNX and Solaris.
The VMIVME-7698-146 module is equipped with a range of special features for embedded applications. IDE CompactFlash up to 512 megabytes (optional). There are three programmable 16-bit timers and 32 kilobyte battery support for the SRAM. The unit is capable of supporting remote Ethernet booting and comes with integrated software optional Watchdog timer (with reset)
VMIVME-7698-146 can support VMEbus P2 connection with hard disk/floppy disk drives. There is a PMC extension site with a VMEbus P2 input and output. Supports PC MIP extension sites and VME64 mode (A32/A24/D32/D16/D08/mblt 64/BLT 32).
The VMEbus is equipped with an interrupt handler, interrupter, and system controller.
